Are Your Healing Efforts Blocked?

There is a lot of information out there today about how to tap into spiritual power in order to heal your body through meditation. In fact, it appears you can save yourself years and great sums of money with some deep meditation techniques that tap into spirit and perhaps into the healing wisdom of the cells. I believe it works, and I only wish I’d known about it myself a few years ago before I took the long, costly, uphill road.

Meditation, along with water fasting and a plant-based diet are the only scientifically proven modalities (that I know of) for increasing longevity and anti-aging. So there is definitely good science about why this is an effective practice. And if you’re like me, and you want to know how it works, I recommend the works of people like Joe Dispenza (Becoming Supernatural and the video series, Rewired), or Bruce Lipton (Biology of Belief), or Greg Braden (The Science of Self-Empowerment and Divine Matrix). They offer both the science...

Moving Beyond the Suffering Narrative

Have you been living in only the first half of a Story, one that elevates suffering and loss above blissful empowerment and gain?

Do you ever feel guilty or unworthy entertaining the idea that you deserve to be happy, free, and successful at whatever you do? Or perhaps you have bought into a belief that life should always be a struggle or else you’re not doing something right? If your life and worldview was shaped anything like mine, you may be unconsciously living in a personal story that stagnates, disempowers, stalls, and in some cases prevents your happiness, health, vibrancy, connectedness with others, financial freedom, innate creativity, and personal power. I call it the “suffering narrative.”

Where did this idea come from? Namely, in most cases, misguided religious teachings that fail to transform people. For me personally, this phenomenon is primarily tied to my conservative Evangelical Christian roots. It wasn’t...

Time, Creativity, L ❤ ve...and other reasons we moved to Puerto Rico

A lot of people have repeatedly asked me questions like, “Why did you move to Puerto Rico? Aren’t you afraid of hurricanes? Do you speak Spanish? Isn't Puerto Rico dangerous?” So today, I want to let you know why we made the move and how it relates to you.

Yep, you’re partly the reason I moved to PR. For the longest time, I’ve wanted to share my many-years journey with someone…someone who cares how I got here and why it matters so deeply to me to be able to talk about it…someone who wants to know how my intensely frustrating struggles led to spiritual, emotional, and physical health and freedom. I hope to translate the best of the all of it for others who, maybe like you, are out of answers (or desperately want to find them).  In short, the coming years of my life are devoted to this task: assembling together the inspiring keys I have collected for the benefit of people like you who are...

Lights On My Path: 9 Hacks That Got My Life Back

I currently live in north Idaho, all the way up near Canada, in a city called Coeur d’Alene (“Cord-A-Lane”). It's highly esteemed by residents and enthusiastic visitors for its pristine, breathtaking, and seemingly unspoiled forests and lakes, and for that reason is growing by leaps and bounds.

What most people don’t know is that, hidden beneath the gorgeous facade of this pure mountain lake is actually a toxic dump. Due to irresponsible mining up river in the Silver Valley over the past century, the lake conceals an enormous volume of toxic waste including arsenic and heavy metals. So great is the toxicity, that is has been known to be lethal to many birds in the local marshlands, as well as lake fish. Recreational enthusiasts have been warned to shower immediately after swimming near the outlet shallows lest they encounter serious health risks. Sadly, this has greatly impacted the local Native American population who used to subsist primarily on lake...

Summiting Your "Schweitzer" Is Doable

On Saturday, I hiked up the famous Schweitzer Mountain here in north Idaho at sunrise...which means I was at the foot of the mountain at 4:45 a.m., mind you (got up at 3 to make the 1.5 hour drive). I chose sunrise because I am entering into a new relationship with the sun (more on this soon). I wanted to be there to greet it as it rose over the horizon in such a breathtaking, familiar setting. I'm sure you can see from the video footage why this is truly one of my favorite hikes, and I try to do it several times a summer.

You can take many different trails on all sides of the mountain. They are all uniquely difficult and challenging—some steeper, some longer, some rockier, etc. And any given day, the conditions make it a different mountain to climb altogether, regardless of path you take. But the fact is, they all lead to the same place—the summit! The summit is where you can finally enjoy the perspective you never had before while down in the...

Are You a Victim of Your Genes?

Is your health and lifespan determined by your genes? Are you destined to be overweight or unhealthy all because you got dealt a bad hand from your parents? What about other problems, like auto immune diseases, Alzheimers, cancer, and diabetes, which are ravaging our society at an alarming rate—something we should be really paying attention to after age 40? Are your genes charting your destiny?

Enter epigenetics! This word is not merely for science geeks—it means for you that there is something above (epi) your genetics that is even more important than your genes, and that is good news if you are able to take it to heart. You can have sovereign above-control over your genes in at least three life-altering ways.

Food. Whether or not Hippocrates actually said, “Let food be thy medicine” (there is debate), it is a fully true statement! In my free “8 Transformational Strategies Guide,” we covered the whole...

It's Not Your Fault that You're Fat!

Maybe you saw my recent post (Facebook and Instagram) with this picture of Morty, who was a real charmer with the ladies until his death two summers ago.

Morty had a normal kittenhood without any metabolic or weight problems. But something changed a few years into his adulthood. He started getting extra fluffy around the middle. Yep. And was hungry all the time. Uh huh. He started eating frequently and gaining weight so quickly that we had to ration out his food and keep it hidden away most of the day. I get it! And that’s how poor Morty became “Mortifat."

And then there was our other sleek,
slender feline, Pepe. Never a fat day in his life. Never interested in eating more than he needed for basic fuel. Never had to think about cutting back on food, or how his paunch was getting in the way of cleaning his lower half, or how impossible it felt to jump higher than the couch. He was a fit specimen of a cat...
